Success story Bayankhongor

Two CSOs \Khongorin zun and Mongoliin ger bul sudlaachdiin mergejilin kholboo\ led the process of assessment towards improving access and quality of the primary health service through using three ways:  

1.       Advocacy activities:  the working committee which was established to assist for MASAM II project implementation at local level raised awareness in cooperation with office of the citizen’s public meeting. Through this meeting, citizen defined emerging issues regarding the primary health service quality and to come up respective solutions.

2.       Document review:  Series of meetings were conducted under framework of CVA approach. During these meetings, CSOs assessed the respective standards towards primary health centers with 340 citizens who are representative of elder, pregnant, lactating mothers as well children.   

3.       Increased citizen’s voice:   These two CSOs organized face to face meeting with local governors and respective decision makers in order to come up solution on raised issues by citizen regarding the issues around health sector especially primary health centers.

As a result, Bayankhongor province’s governor made resolution #A/420 that promoted to come up possible solutions raised by citizen for improving “Otoch Nomgon” primary health center. Also, province governor tasked to complete these resolutions to the governor office, province health authority and citizens’ public meeting of the Bayankhongor sub-provinces.
